Thermal conductive silicone grease, also known as heat dissipation paste, has excellent thermal conductivity, heat resistance, and insulation properties. It is an ideal medium for heat sinks and maintains stable performance. It does not produce corrosive gases during use and does not affect the metals it comes into contact with. Applying thermal conductive silicone grease helps eliminate air gaps on contact surfaces, improving heat flow and reducing the operating temperature of high-power devices.
Why Use Thermal Conductive Silicone Grease?
Even with smooth surfaces, there may still be gaps between heat sinks and chips. Air in these gaps acts as a poor conductor of heat, hindering heat transfer between the heat sink and chip. Thermal conductive silicone grease fills these gaps, accelerating the efficiency of heat transfer.
A 2g package can be used for 4-5 CPUs. Avoid applying the grease too thickly as it can lead to wastage and hinder thermal conduction. Apply a thin layer of grease evenly on the CPU surface, aiming for a thickness similar to that of a piece of paper.
