When performing long exposure photography exceeding 15 seconds, it is recommended to increase the calculated exposure time by 0.5 to 1 stop to compensate for reciprocity failure.

High-density ND filters may cause slight vignetting ("dark corners") on wide-angle lenses due to uneven light distribution on the sensor.

Slight reddish color cast may appear after long exposures due to wavelength differences; this is not a filter defect. Shooting in RAW format is recommended for post-processing color correction.

Be aware of viewfinder light leaks during long exposures; most cameras have switches or accessories to prevent this.
