- CPL is often used in landscape photography to remove unnecessary reflections, making the overall image clearer and more transparent. To achieve effective results when using CPL, follow these principles:
1. Avoid direct strong light or sunlight for less noticeable effects.
2. Remove reflections on water surfaces by ensuring a 45-degree angle with the water surface for more significant effects.
3. Observe changes in color saturation in the viewfinder.
4. When observing through the viewfinder, avoid rotating counterclockwise to prevent the CPL from accidentally falling off due to insufficient locking. Otherwise, the CPL will not be able to salvage a grayish-white sky no matter how you shoot.
